Wow!  HERE WE ARE in our last week of school. You did it!  I am going to miss all of my Bobcats:)

Just a note to let you know that while I will not be checking my voicemail this summer, I will be checking my email on a weekly basis.

I encourage everyone to continue reading and to check my Handouts/Resources page for summer reading ideas.

Congratulations on an amazing year!

It is that TIME! Our school year is quickly coming to an end.  While we look forward to vacations, outdoor activities, and summer leisure, it's extremely important to KEEP READING! Students can lose 2+ months of reading achievement if they don't engage in summer reading. And I'm here to help you with the ideas and resources needed to keep those pages turning! Visit the Handouts/Resources section under the MORE tab at the top of this page to find links that will guide reading growth.  I will be adding resources over the next few weeks so make sure to check back!

Congrats and best of luck to our 3rd-grade GT Language Arts students who have composed verse for the Scholastic Poetry Contest.  Your writing is inspiring!

Please see the message below from Mary Nichols, PSD's GT Curriculum Coordinator, regarding a parent survey conducted last spring.  The same survey will be offered to parents this spring, 2012.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Results from GT Parent Survey Spring 2011: During May 2011, parents of gifted learners in Poudre School District were offered an opportunity to provide feedback on the district's Gifted and Talented Program.  Poudre School District is a site-based district, so programs will look different at each school; however, there is a district-wide system for identification and Advanced Learning Plans.  The results of the survey were very helpful in guiding the focus for the district Gifted and Talented Program.  Results do not indicate specific schools.  Each individual school will be administering this same survey in May 2012.  Results will help specific schools evaluate the GT program at the school site level.  Contact your school's GT Site Coordinator for more information.

To all our Bobcats...let's have a great 2012!

SENG is a seven week guided discussion and support group for parents of gifted and talented children lead by trained facilitators. Each week a new topic relevant to raising gifted children will be the focus. The books A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children and Guiding the Gifted Child provide rich information for discussion. Participants select the book that fits them best. All the books have similar information, but vary by length and format. There is also an outlined booklet that may be selected as the discussion text. See the flyer below for more information.

Exciting!
