GT
At Bethke Elementary, it is our goal to recognize and support students with exceptional abilities in order to promote their higher-level thinking, creativity, and positive self esteem.
Our belief at Bethke is that within the context of core knowledge instruction, students must also learn the essential skills necessary for success in our 21st world and global economy. Some of these skills include critical thinking/problem solving, self-initiated, independent thinking, creativity/innovation, and communication as well as collaboration.
The GT program at Bethke will challenge students with a personalized ALP (Advanced Learning Plan) which will include advanced objectives in Math, Language Arts, and Creativity. There will be an emphasis on extended projects, intentional groupings, and personalized success goals.
For more information on PSD's GT program, please visit http://www.psdschools.org/academics/curriculum-subject-areas/gifted-and-talented. Here you will learn about PSD's identification process, ALPs (Advanced Learning Plans), etc.
By complementing standards, assessment, and core knowledge with 21st-century thinking today, it is our hope to create the globally conscious and innovative thinkers of tomorrow.
